Wong Goes Past 4,756-Entries To Win $250,000

Jerry Wong is a very happy man. He has won the 2017 WPTDeepStacks SHR Lucky Hearts Poker Open Ultimate Re-Entry Event getting the better of 4,756 entries to win $250,000.


He has bettered his record at the World Poker Tour event as he finished in the 8th position out of 6,737 entries in 2016 for a World Series of Poker main event. He has proved once again that he can find his way through a massive field and eventually get to a position of reckoning and that is to enter the final table.

It was a $360 buy-in tournament and the 4,756 entries recorded was the second largest tournament entry registered in the history of poker in Florida. The increase in the number of entries meant that the $500,000 guarantee was demolished and it went on to become a $1,426,800 prize pool. That’s a lot of money. (more…)

Montreal Nationals Victory On GPL 1

The poker champions Montreal Nationals made it to the top by defeating The Berlin Bears to become the first winners of GPL season 1.


They won $100,000 as the first prize in the Global Poker League. The winner Sorel Mizzi achieved victory with a win over Mike McDonald. He expressed his views on his victory by saying a few words. He always dreamt of playing poker, but was always contemplating if he could succeed in the game. Football has always been the true love for almost 30 years for the player, but he never thought that anything could match up to this lovely game. The player would have never played poker with enthusiasm if he did not have the ability to win or lose funding. Money is the main attraction that keeps you engrossed in the game and without it, there is no fun.

Soon after the GPL Draft was finished in the month of February, the player had 2 teams for him that stood out. One was the London Royals which looked competitive and the other one was the Montreal Nationals. Both teams made it to the Playoffs in Las Vegas. The World Series of Poker is getting all set for their forthcoming events and has a few spot that required to be filled.
The WSOP, a Caesars Interactive Entertainment division, operated from the May’s end to the middle of July at the Rio and needs a staff of around 2350 employees to operate successfully each year. The firm is looking for people in every area of operations —cage, chip personnel, dealers, food and beverage staff, customer service as well as everything in between — to staff their fast- nearing 2016 series.
Last year, after building a very successful relationship, the World Series of Poker is again working with Clark County School District to offer employment to teachers as well as school staffs who are looking for short-term engagement when school is out of session.

Jennifer Harman inducted into Poker Hall Of Fame

Professional poker player Jennifer Harman, earlier this month, was inducted in Poker Hall of Fame at an event in Downtown Las Vegas. Jennifer as well as her fellow poker pro John Juanda became the No. 49 and No. 50 members of Poker Hall of Fame.

Poker players – in a new leap to take

As the game of Poker gains lots of fame, there are many awards and ceremonies that many international agencies have organised for the poker players. The British Poker Award of 2012 is worth mentioning in this regard.

At London, near the HMS president embankment the award ceremony was held. The award ceremony was full of British cum International poker players like Vanessa Selbst, Liv Boeree, Chris Moorman, and many more.

Players like One Drop earn more than 17 thousand dollars in the game of poker in 2012, grabbing the international award for pokers. It is found that Sam Trickett came up as the British Poker Awards scooping Player of the Year, Best Cash Player for the second time and Best Tournament Player. Speaking about his achievement, Sam Trickett twitted thanking his fans for their support – “I am glad to win the title, and would like to thank all my fans for their unstoppable support and love…”

The night was also adorned with many sponsored professionals like Vanessa Selbst, Liv Boeree and many more poker players. Vanessa Selbst was honoured as International Player of the Year while Kirsty Thomspon was rewarded for the contribution to the growth and promotion of poker in the United Kingdom.Another Poker award was distributed in the form of Best Tournament Director which was awarded to Toby Stone for his contribution to the UKIPT and EPT events.

Chris Moorman got the prize for the Best Online Player third time in a row. The 27-year old, known as Moorman1 in the internet poker arena, has now achieved online winnings of more than ten thousand dollars. Craig McCorkell won Best Breakthrough Player of the Year while Neil Channing who was awarded Best Blogger or Social Media User.

The event will be remembered by the poker lovers for ever for the number of awards given.
